In order to improve the internationalization level of top-notch innovative talents experimental class of our school, expand the students' international vision, cultivate students' innovative thinking ability, and create the brand effect of the top-notch innovative talents experimental class, Guangzhou University launched “Top-notch Innovative Talent Experimental Class Visiting-Study Program in the Famous American University of Guangzhou University” in 2018.
To further improve the quality of students' study abroad programs, Guangzhou University has established “Guangzhou University - University of California, Berkeley Future City Design Learning Program” on the basis of 2018, and 28 students from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning participated in the 15-day project.
The project mainly includes course study, high-tech companies and laboratory visits and workshops.
The “Future City Design” course is based on innovation. Through the explanation and communication with the professors, the students have learned the most advanced progress in eight different disciplines and broadened the depth and breadth of their thinking; By visiting relevant high-tech companies, research institutes and laboratories, such as Target Open House, Innovative Genomics Institute, Robot Learning Lab, Kiwi at Skydeck, etc., students are experiencing the development and application of different disciplines; By combining what you have learned and your own expertise, you can apply it to future city design workshops in Guangzhou to provide the most creative solutions for problems in housing, transportation, cultural activities, infrastructure construction, unmanned vehicles, water resources, energy, industrial products, business development and so on in Guangzhou.

On Tuesday morning, July 16, the students came to the University of California, San Francisco to attend classes. In this class, Professor Abigail Rudner introduced us to human-computer interaction, including user interface design and web design, by studying the influence of color and layout on the user's visual level, then users can get computer information more efficiently.

On Wednesday afternoon, July 17, the students came to the robot learning lab to learn how the lab researched robots to simulate human beings and realize human learning behavior, so they can improve their performance and improve their adaptability and intelligence level through continuous learning like human beings. Ø Visit the Computer History Museum
On Tuesday afternoon, July 23, the students visited the Computer History Museum in Silicon Valley. Founded in 1996, the museum is a non-profit organization with many unique original machines and models in computer history.
The computer was first invented to store population data, this machine is called a Punched Cards and records the corresponding data by punching holes in the paper.
Then, the first general purpose computer (ENIAC) was invented, which is a complete Turing computer that can be reprogrammed to solve various computational problems.
In the 1940s, Howard Hathaway Aiken successfully developed the first large-scale automatic digital computer Mark I in the world, which IBM named ASCC, the Automatic Sequence Controlled Calculator.

On the morning of July 24th, Professor Ye Fusheng gave an impressive lesson to the students, the professor introduced the subject position of AI and the social problems after extensive use of AI and so on. Moreover, the professor gave many suggestions to the students in the study life, and the students communicated with the professors after the class.
At 1:30 pm on July 26th, the students reported the final work in the classroom at the University of California, Berkeley, and each group of works was reported for a brief reply. Finally, Dr. Frederick T. Wehrle summed up the course for the students, the professor hopes that the students can review the knowledge learned in the course on the return flight, bring it back to China, and apply it to future studies, make their own efforts for the development of China!
